EuroCalc

Live Currency Converter

Convert any amount between the Swiss franc, euro, US dollar, British pound, Japanese yen, Canadian dollar, Swedish and Norwegian krona using live mid-market exchange rates. Enter an amount, pick a source and target currency, and the calculator instantly shows the converted value, the current rate and a 30-day trend sparkline. A quick-reference table converts 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 units of the source currency. Rates refresh from a public foreign-exchange feed; if the network call fails, the tool falls back to recent reference rates and warns you so you can decide whether to use them. Ideal for travel, international invoicing, ETF cost basis and cross-border salary comparisons.

Key takeaways
  • Live mid-market rates ≠ retail rates: banks and cards add 0.5 %–3 % spread.
  • 30-day trend shows the direction of the pair, not a prediction.
  • Multi-currency cards (Wise, Revolut) usually beat traditional bank conversion.
  • For invoicing, lock the rate at issuance and quote it on the invoice itself.
  • Rates change continuously — verify on settlement day for high-value transfers.

Frequently asked questions

What is a mid-market rate?

The mid-market rate is the midpoint between buy and sell prices on the global FX market. It is the fairest reference rate but not what most retail users get — banks and cards apply a spread.

Why do my bank's rate and this rate differ?

Banks add a margin (typically 1–3 %) plus sometimes fixed fees. The mid-market rate shown here is the wholesale benchmark — use it to evaluate offers, not as a quote.

How often are rates updated?

The tool fetches rates from a public feed on every page load and on currency change. Within a session you see the same snapshot — refresh to fetch a new one.

What happens if the rate feed is unavailable?

The converter falls back to recent reference rates and shows a warning banner. Numbers stay close to reality for casual conversions but should not be used for settlements.

Can I convert historical amounts?

Not yet — this tool uses current spot rates only. For historical conversions, use your bank statement or a dedicated historical FX provider.
